"(1) to care for, relieve, rehabilitate and generally assist disabled people within the beneficial area and to promote understanding of the management of disability and fuller knowledge of the causes of disablement and understanding, of the ways in which such causes may be eliminated or reduced. the words ""disabled people"" include any person suffering a mental, physical or sensory disability, or disadvantage or restriction of activity through lack or part or all of a limb, organ or mechanism of the body or having a defective limb, organ, mechanism and include any person suffering from a condition which may give rise to such a disability, disadvantage or restriction of activiey. (2) to promote the education, welfare and rehabilitation of disabled people and their integration within the community (3) to promote and support research into the management of disabling diseases and conditions and to publish the useful results of such research (4) to promote and conduct research and surveys in social welfare and rehabilitation of disabled people and to publish the useful results of such research."
