a) to provide education & training by awarding grants for fees or maintenance to persons who are desirous of training (whether at an educational establishment or otherwise) in livestock, auctioneeing and/or rural estate management and who were born in the counties of cumbria, northumberland or in scotland or who are (or whose parents or guardians are) at the time of the award resident in any of those places and which persons are in need of financial assistance. b) to provide books or equipment for such persons pursuant to the foregoing objective. c) to award to such persons financial assistance to enable them to travel, whether in the uk or abroad in furtherance of their said training d) to further the training of such persons in whatever manner the trustees may consider desirable.
